Using Videos for Animations in Prezi

As you might already know by now, Prezi has lost the support for animated swf graphics, most commonly simply known as animations. However Prezi still supports (and hopefully always will) regular videos in mp4 or wmv format. So while you cannot add looping swf animations anymore you can still add a bit of motion to your Prezi by using videos. The downside is that a video can’t loop. However here is a perfect example of how to take advantage of that. View this simple Prezi template that uses animated video curtain stage background.

The second slide of the presentation is actually a video background. Once you move to the second slide, it pulls up the curtain and the video ends – perfect for continuing with the rest of the Prezi.

Tips for using this effect in your presentations!

  • It would be important to use an uploaded video file, rather than a video from Youtube.
  • Add the video directly to path, don’t add a frame around the video. Right-Click on the video and choose “Add to path”
